What the Romans and Greeks looked like were always in the back of my mind. zzz my Ancient History prof my Soph year gave me his rough approximations but it was short of what my mind’s view wanted.
As it turned out my friend was of a height of a typical Roman, while I was the type of a Greek from the northern reaches of Greece.

It is amazing what modern technology can do! This is absolutely amazing!
Thanks for providing this glimpse back into history.
By the way, I once heard that Sulla had an issue with his name because SULLA ends is A,
which, if we are speaking of first declension nouns, is feminine gender.
Is this fact true??

Hey Roger,
Great question! I’ve actually never found that in my research. It’s entirely possible. There are plenty of exceptions to that rule, and it wasn’t entirely uncommon, but we can’t rule it out! I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for something like that as I’m researching for the next book!
